Two Greek Folk Dance Workshops

Directed by Athan Karras

Guest Instructor Nikos Savvidis, will be teaching Pontic Dances

Session I:   10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Session II: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Athan Karras' name is synonymous with Greek dance. He is one of the original members of the Dora Stratou Dance Troupe and has produced and presented numerous folklore programs and events in the US and Canada. He has appeared on Broadway, television and in motion pictures. He has also authored numerous articles on Greek dance and music. Currently, he is an instructor of Greek Dance and Culture at Loyola Marymount University.

Nikos Savvidis, also an original member of the Dora Stratou Dance Troupe, is an expert in Pontic dancing. During the last few years, he has served as a judge at the Greek Orthodox Folk Dance Festival (FDF).
